Multimedia Case Studies
The innovative curriculum includes online multimedia cases that live educational session participants can access prior to the session for a convenient, flexible way to further their knowledge in order to improve patient outcomes. The MDS Multimedia Case Studies will challenge participants to apply new information in realistic patient scenarios. Case studies focus on appropriately diagnosing and classifying patients with MDS, as well as communicating information with the health care team. Participants will review 4 interactive case studies featuring knowledge checks, image reviews and podcast discussions between hematologists and oncologists expanding on each case. In addition, they will be able to earn 2.0 CME or Self-Assessment Module (SAMs CME) credits and meet requirements for the American Board of Pathology's (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part II Life-Long Learning and Self-Assessment.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Explain the history and clinical findings of the MDS cases that are covered
- Appropriately diagnose and classify patients with these types of MDS or diagnoses mimicking MDS
- Communicate information with the healthcare team when MDS is not considered a possibility
- Describe some of the questions that clinicians often have about the MDS cases that are covered
