Acceptance of Terms of Use

The Terms of Use herein govern your use of the ASCP re.member membership service and website. If you utilize the ASCP re.member membership and website, you will be bound by the Terms of Use and subject to any and all provisions thereof. ASCP reserves the right, with or without notice to you, to change these Terms of Use in its sole and absolute discretion. The most current version of these Terms of Use will supersede all previous versions and can be reviewed by clicking "Terms of Use" located on the re.member website. By continuing to use the re.member website or to maintain enrollment in our membership service after the Terms of Use have been revised, you are agreeing to be bound by such changes. These Terms of Use are an ongoing contract between you and ASCP and apply to your use of and enrollment in the re.member membership service and website. These Terms of Use affect your rights and you should read them carefully.

How Our Service Works

ASCP re.member membership service is a unique way to assist with your Certificate Maintenance Program (CMP). Using and/or enrolling in the ASCP re.member plan does not guarantee recertification by the Board of Certification. ASCP is not responsible if you fail to complete the appropriate requirements to obtain recertification by the Board of Certification (BOC). The benefits of this plan are available to you as long as you are enrolled in your complimentary year of membership or as long as your account is paid in full. re.member benefits include:

  • Electronic remittance of your declaration form to the ASCP Board of Certification (BOC)
  • Payment of the CMP application fee to the BOC if you have paid your ASCP member dues for at least 3 consecutive years and are currently enrolled in re.member
  • Electronic tracking of all your CMP points
  • Access to three (3) online courses that meet your CMP requirements
  • Access to view and map your completed CMP points to CMP requirements
  • Personal membership ID card with your professional credentials
  • Discounts on ASCP education events, including ASCP Annual Meeting and Workshops for Laboratory Professionals
  • Discounts on all ASCP products and programs
  • Free shipping on all on-line purchases at ascp.org (in U.S. and Canada)
  • Online access to LABMEDICINE, the Critical Values newsmagazine, all ASCP electronic communications.

Membership and Billing

  • Billing

    By starting your ASCP re.member membership, you are expressly agreeing to accept a complimentary year of re.member membership for one year at no cost to you. Once your complimentary year of membership expires, or anytime before that date, you may voluntarily elect to enroll in the re.member membership to access the full benefits of re.member including access to unlimited ASCP continuing education. If you do not enroll with payment in re.member on or before the day your complimentary membership expires, ASCP will automatically cancel your membership after your one-year complimentary membership period. If you enroll in re.member, ASCP is authorized to charge you the applicable annual membership fee and any other charges you may incur in connection with your use of the re.member membership service to the Payment Method you provided during registration (or to a different Payment Method if you change your account information). As used in these Terms of Use, "billing" shall indicate either a charge or debit, as applicable, against your Payment Method. The membership fee will be billed at the beginning of your membership and on each annual renewal of your certification thereafter until your membership expires or unless and until you cancel your membership. We automatically bill your Payment Method each year on the last day of the month corresponding with your certification date. For example, if you received certification from the BOC in January of 2010, your Payment Method would next be billed on January 31, 2011. All fees and charges are nonrefundable and there are no refunds or credits for partially used periods. If you want to use a different Payment Method or if there is a change in your credit card validity or expiration date, you may edit your Payment Method information. If your Payment Method reaches its expiration date, your continued use of the service constitutes your authorization for us to continue billing that Payment Method and you remain responsible for any uncollected amounts. Payments by check will NOT be accepted through the re.member enrollment website.
  • Grace Period

    ASCP does not have a grace period for this membership plan. If you fail to submit payment for your membership on or before your complimentary membership expires, your access to benefits will be disabled.


  • Ongoing Membership

    Your ASCP re.member membership will continue to the end of your membership term unless and until you enroll in re.member and extend your membership term, or if you cancel your membership, or ASCP terminates it.

  • Cancellation

    You may cancel your membership to ASCP re.member at anytime, and cancellation will be effective immediately. ASCP DOES NOT PROVIDE REFUNDS OR CREDITS FOR ANY PARTIAL-YEAR MEMBERSHIP PERIODS OR UNUSED BENEFITS. If there are outstanding invoices against your account, you may only claim continuing education credit that was earned during the time your membership was paid in full. You may be subject to cancellation fees if you cancel and have payments due on your account.

Use of Information Submitted

ASCP is free to use any comments, information, ideas, concepts, reviews, or techniques or any other material contained in any communication you may send to ASCP, including responses to questionnaires or through postings to the ASCP website, without further compensation, acknowledgement or payment to you for any purpose whatsoever including, but not limited to, developing, marketing products and creating, modifying or improving the ASCP re.member website or other websites.

Service Testing

From time to time, we test various aspects of our service, including service levels, plans, promotions, features, availability, delivery, and pricing, and ASCP reserves the right to include you in or exclude you from these tests without notice.

Electronic Communications

By subscribing to the ASCP re.member service, you consent to receiving electronic communications from ASCP. These communications will include notices about your account (e.g., shipping and receiving e-mails and other transactional information) and information concerning or related to our service, such as featured education programs or other educational information or offerings. These communications are part of your relationship with ASCP and you receive them as part of the re.member membership. You agree that any notice, agreements, disclosure or other communications that we send to you electronically will satisfy any legal communication requirements, including that such communications be in writing. ASCP does not sell customer email addresses to third parties.

Right to Terminate

We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your use of our service, without notice, for any or no reason.
